RLC Best Fit Calculator


Usage: Calculate a single or pair of RLC values selected from standard E-Series (as per EIA) to provide the best fit to either target value or ratio. Results are presented in both scientific and engineering formats, and also shows relative error (%).

Tips: Target values can be entered in scientific format, e.g. 1.23E2 (123). Calculator default series is set to E24. To show all standard E-series check the corresponding Check box. Calculator provides highl evel of interactivity through AJAX technology. System automatically recalculates new values every time the User change any drop-down selection.

Example: Target Value is 249 Ohm. Find the pair of standard Resistors chosen from E24 series connected in series to provide the best fit.

Solution: Enter the target value 249, then select Mode (2 RLC), RLC (R), Topology (SER), standard series (E24) and click on "Calculate" button or press "Enter" on the keyboard. Best fit found is: R1=240 Ohm, R2 =9.1 Ohm with corresponding error of aproximation: 0.0402%.
